I have pondered for days on what to write about this piece I named The WE in ME. How do I explain oneness in a just a paragraph ortwo? Do I write an essay, a story or a poetry? Little did I know that the answer will come from one of my collectors - who immediately resonated with (and bought) the painting last week.
Yes, The We in Me is not just a painting, it is a beautiful reminder that we are all one and that there is no other.
December 2020

Italian Art curators and art critics Salvatore Russo & Francisco Russo went beyond the physical limitations imposed by the lock down and launched its 50 International Artists To Invest in.
London and Tokyo based Contemporary Art Station need not invite people to an exhibit. They brought the exhibit to them instead and organized a week long Shibuya Art Station International Exhibit last September.
It was business as usual for US based galleries who have been promoting and supporting artists online for years through their monthly themed international contests (Light Space & Time, Fusion Art, Contemporary Art Gallery Online, JM Gallery). Thank you for all the awards and recognition.
Artist Portfolio Magazine (US) celebrated its 10th year anniversary by launching 3 volumes of art magazines - such an honor to be part of this.
CreativPaper (UK) continues to use its magazine as platform to support and promote emerging creative talents alongside established professionals. Thank you for gifting me with a four-page feature!
What a ride it has been! You all kept me busy

To all the brilliant artists I shared magazines pages and exhibits with, it truly is an honor to be in your company.
To all my art collectors and art clients, thank you! I already have exciting news for you.
What a journey it has been, thank you 2020!
The Mirror of You
The Mirror of You is a Love Story.
It is not a story of completing each other and making each other whole. It is not a story of needing someone to fill a void and not a story of a girl meets boy. It is not a story of one rescuing the other, not a story of a damsel in distress waiting to be saved by a knight and shining armour.
It is telling of two souls who have come to know and love who they are. Who have come to know and accepted who they are not. Two individuals who have found completeness and wholeness in themselves even before their path crossed.
Armed with nothing but unconditional love for each other, they have risen above society’s standards and programming, transcended religious imposed beliefs and dogmas .
It is a relationship that does not confine, constrict and limit each other, rather it is a partnership that allows each other to soar and explore possibilities - sometimes together other times as individuals.
Yes, The Mirror of You is a love story telling of two souls who are reflecting each other’s wholeness and mirroring each other’s completeness . In that space that they turned into each other’s eternal cheerleaders.

“What is meant for you will always find its way to you no matter what.”
Such is the story of this painting I call NEW BEGINNING.
It was back in April when someone saw this newly created art in my studio. She was so drawn to the painting that she told me she is going to buy it when it is dry.
Every now and then, she would mention the painting and her intent to buying it when she gets a particular project she was bidding for. She even sent me a video of the wall where she intends to display it.
Months have passed and one August afternoon, I opened my studio for viewing. The day ended with the purchase of artworks including New Beginning. I sensed she was a bit disappointed when I informed her about the sale, yet there was a sense of knowing in her that the painting is meant for her.
Few days after, I received a text message from the person who bought it asking if it is possible to replace the New Beginning painting with something else. I immediately said yes and New Beginning was returned and replaced with another piece - a painting the the buyer resonated with.
Last September, of all the available paintings I have New Beginning was chosen, borrowed and loaned to a government office for the rest of the year. The same day it was set up that I got a call from the person who wanted it - she got the project, expected to get paid by December and she will buy the painting 1st week of December.
Given the arrangement I had, I was not sure if I could pull it out earlier to meet her time frame.
Somehow, the Universe rearranged and aligned all the stars. New Beginning was returned November due to office renovations, a month earlier than expected. She on the other hand visited me for a different reason, saw the newly returned painting, paid it ( since she was paid in advance ) and took it home.
It’s first week of December and after months of wandering, NEW BEGINNING now finally rests on that wall, its forever home.

Magical Spring (2019 2nd Quarter)
The breeze of Spring led me to the 3rd INTERNATIONAL BIENAL DE ARTE
BARCELONA as one of the exhibiting international artists held in MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art of Barcelona). Its whispers carried a news from USA saying that one of my paintings made it to 2nd SEASONS QUARTERLY ART EXHIBITION. Its sweet scent lingered and finally settled in the historical Gonzaga Museum to celebrate the works of 50 international contemporary artists in the world during the Mantova Art Expo 2019, Mantua, Italy.
This is just half of the wonderful story. The other half is the story of the pillars of the art industry who made all of these possible.
The art curators and art consultants who provided these platforms for artists to thrive globally, to the gallery owners I met whose unquestionable mission to help artists thrive inspired me more, to art editors, writers and publishers who wrote and published the artists and their arts, to the international artists who have been part of these journey and made it extra special and to all buyers and collectors whose
every purchase is not only a support to the artist but a support to the
whole Art Industry.
I thank you and I celebrate you all. It has been a Magical Spring 2019 with all of you.

Winter Memories (2019 1st Quarter)
What a first quarter of 2019 it has been.
It kicked off in New York with an exhibit for a month then off to Los Angeles for an art fair. It circled around and went to Florence, Italy to receive an award for artistic merit and a side trip to France to receive a certificate of excellence award. Not even the coldest winter can stop my artworks from going where they were supposed to be.
In between these milestones, so many wonderful things happened. Few more awards and inclusion in online international juried exhibitions to receiving an invite to participate in an Art Fund Raising Campaign, which led to meeting new collectors and buyers, to forging new friendships and the list could go on.
Thank you to all art curators, art consultants and art jury from USA, Italy and France. You have given me the best Winter Memories!

LET'S PAINT THE WORLD WITH LOVE....
My artwork Music of the Universe made it to The Healing Power of Arts and Artists Anniversary Celebration Online Exhibition. Chosen as one of the 70+ outstanding artists selected from different parts of the world to partake on this exhibition opened up something more in me.
What touched, moved and inspired me is the fact that in one platform, 70 plus artists from different parts of the world with diverse backgrounds and genres got together for one cause, took a stand for one belief, that is The Healing Power of Arts and ARTISTS. A platform where there is no question of race, gender, status and other labels society have dictated upon us (which, have unconsciously and consciously limited our expressions).
There is an obvious question that needs an answer. How does art heal? A straight forward question that can be answered in several ways. It can be logically or scientifically explained through the science of colors. It could be answered from a metaphysical perspective and from a personal experience. The answers are not meant to convince nor convert someone because words are not enough to explain something that is beyond words. The healing needs to be experienced and felt.
As I ponder (as I always do), it got into my knowing that what makes these arts healing is the energy of Love that each and every artist put into the creation of each painting. The LOVE energy that passes itself through the artist, expresses through the brushes or knives then on to the canvas. The LOVE energy that expresses itself in infinite ways and each expression is neither right or wrong, it is just is, like LOVE, encompassing of everything, of anything and anyone.
With what is going on in the world we live in today, can you imagine how artists could contribute to its healing? How we, as artists can in our own ways heal the world with our arts? How we, as artists can paint the world with LOVE. How we can heal the world one painting at a time.
Love,

THE JOY IN FREEDOM

Have you ever wondered what freedom really means and how does it feel? If it is a color, what color would it be? If it is a sound, what rhythm would it be. If you can taste it, would it be sweet?
As one of the top 5 Artists in Artist.com.sg online contest winner last October 2017, I was called to give the audience few words to tell them about myself and about my painting I call FREEDOM. It freaked me out a bit because it was not part of the program and I have not prepared anything.
Yet, the moment I started talking about my art and what I love about art, words were flowing so naturally and right there and then, I knew I could talk for hours about it.
What I love about being an artist is the exhilaration I experience every time I paint. Exhilaration is the feeling behind the freedom I have to express. The freedom to have no rules and boundaries. The freedom to lose myself in the moment and the freedom to not have any expectations. The freedom to create for the pleasure of creating. The freedom to experiment, the freedom to mess things up, the freedom to go through all the emotions in creating a piece. The best part of it is the freedom I have to accept and love myself in the process.
Celebrating Freedom,
Hanna
